Friday 12th and Saturday 13th...
Mar 8, 2010, 5:04 pmThe forthcoming weekend starts a little early this week with a special floodlit match on Friday night against Italian tourists Valpolicella. The clubhouse is sure to be packed with people and fun! All welcome for what I'm sure will be a great night. Kick off is 7.30pm.
On Saturday there are hugely important matches for both the 1's and 2's. The 2nd XV are away to Chess Valley in a must win league game to maintain the quest for promotion with a 3.00pm kick off.
The 1st XV have a home fixture in the semi final of the RFU VASE, London and South East division, against Teddington, kick off at 2.30pm.
As much support as possible would be greatly appreciated for what is the single biggest match for the Senior Mens Section since formation in 2003.

Christo Kasabi wins 9th International cap!
Mar 8, 2010, 3:18 pmCyprus 58 - 0 Azerbaijan, 6th March 2010, Pafiako Stadium, Pafos.
Senior Men's 1st XV vice captain, Christo Kasabi produced his finest performance for his national side in this one sided encounter in Paphos, Cyprus. Kasabi in his 9th international appearance was dominant in the scrum, and provided 100% lineout accuracy which laid the foundations for Cyprus to outclass their opponents Azerbaijan 58-0. Unfortunately Kasabi was unable to transfer his excellent try scoring club form onto the international arena but he was excellent in the loose and tireless in defence culminating in a number of turnovers for Cyprus.
Kasabi will be looking to winning his 10th cap in three weeks time in a mouth watering encounter against Bosnia in Paphos on the 27th March. The previous encounter between the two sides was an 6-8 victory to Cyprus in the snow in Zenica, Bosnia. If Cyprus win that game, they win the league and gain promotion to Division 3C.

CHAIRMAN – MINI & YOUTH SECTION
Mar 8, 2010, 1:08 pmJules Davies has asked to step down from his role as Mini & Youth Section Chairman with immediate effect. This decision, which has been arrived at reluctantly by Jules, is as a result of his increased workload in his “day job” which means that he cannot devote the required time and resources to this important role at Saracens. Jules has requested that he continue to be involved in the development of the coaching of the Mini & Youth Section and accordingly he will be a member of a Mini & Youth section Sub-Committee to take this forward.
Marc Georghiou has agreed to step into the role of Mini & Junior Chairman with immediate effect and the General Committee of the Club has gratefully accepted this offer to ensure that this important role is covered for the rest of the season and the build up to next season.
The post of Mini & Youth Chairman will be subject to election at the 2010 Annual General Meeting of the Club and Marc Georghiou has stated his intention to stand for election at that time. All those who wish to stand for election for this role are encouraged to do so and if you wish to discuss the role and the duties involved please do not hesitate to contact any of the General Committee or Jules Davies or Marc Georghiou.
The Committee on behalf of the whole Club extends our grateful thanks to Jules Davies for the leadership and commitment that he has displayed to the Mini & Youth Section as its Chairman over the past few years. The Committee wishes Marc every success in taking on the role.

The Boys In Blue Under The Spotlight!...
Mar 4, 2010, 11:23 pmOn weds 3rd march Saracens senior section played hosts to the Met Police under the floodlights in what was a very enjoyable night for all concerned.
Saracens fielded 33 players representing all 4 senior sides using rolling subs to guarentee every player took part.Sadly I wasn`t present but Mark reported James,Lewis and Chris had fine games but all players contributed well to a 65-0 win for Saracens.I`m also pleased to note Northy made a welcome return, again!
The Met were keen to arrange a re match and it is thought this may be possible prior to the end of the current season.
Our thanks go to Ref Mostyn Jenkins who stepped in to take charge of the fixture with little warning,
Terry Edwards.
